    Welcome to Grace

We're so glad you're here.

Poke around the site, come visit in person on a Sunday morning. We're a Lutheran church, with folks from lots of different backgrounds. Jesus is important to us: the way Jesus welcomed everyone, the ways in which Jesus challenged people to care for one another and for the world, the ways in which Jesus understands our pain and suffering, the ways in which Jesus celebrated life itself - and calls us to live life to the fullest. Together we try to figure out what that means for us today. Drop by some Sunday morning at 9:30 for worship - and stay for coffee and munchies!

We are the church that shares a living, daring confidence in God's grace.

Grace is proud to announce that we have been recognized by Reconciling Works as the newest Reconciling in Christ congregation in Massachusetts! The Reconciling in Christ recognition means that the congregation will be listed on a roster of congregations, organizations and synods in the United States and Canada, which publicly welcome members of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

This recognition comes as a result of the passage of a statement of welcome that we passed at our annual meeting in February. That statement reads:

We, the congregation of Grace Lutheran Church in Needham, Massachusetts, are called to be a reflection of the light of Christ in the world. We believe that all are welcome at God’s table, and we invite all who are seeking God’s love and grace to join us in worship and fellowship. We welcome all because God welcomes all, and we love all because God loves all, regardless of race, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or relationship status. We welcome and love all without regard to addictions, physical and mental health, imprisonment, socio-economic circumstances, or anything that might divide us. We affirm today, tomorrow, and every day to come that the welcome we offer is offered to all people, and that we will strive evermore to live as people of faith, people of compassion, people of love, and people of grace.

You may have noticed an addition to our sign – two rainbow flag decals to let passers-by know that we are a fully welcoming congregation. We have also received a certificate of welcome from Reconciling Works, which we will display in the narthex! Reconciling Works has also sent us a package of resources that we will make available digitally and in hard-copy form in the coming weeks for anyone who wants to learn more about what Reconciling Works does, what Grace can do to express our welcome more fully, and more.
