Two leaders in sports video and performance analysis come together under one brand.
LINCOLN, Neb. – Less than two months after Hudl announced its bid to acquire the Australia-based firm, Sportstec shareholders have given the green light. News of Hudl’s decision to purchase Sportstec broke in May 2015, and its approval completes the company’s third acquisition in just 12 months.
“In working with Sportstec shareholders to finalize this acquisition, we had the opportunity to meet some great people behind an awesome product,” said Hudl CEO David Graff. “Current employees, customers and partners have all been extremely welcoming, and we’re excited to work together in building a great product for teams all over the world.”
For more than 15 years, Sportstec has been used by the world’s most elite sports organizations, including the Chicago Blackhawks (2015 NHL Stanley Cup Champions), FC Bayern Munich, the New Zealand All Blacks and the Duke University men’s basketball team (2015 NCAA Tournament Champions). Its tools allow teams to capture and break down match and practice video for more in-depth study and continued improvement.
Hudl plans to add Sportstec employees to its existing headcount of more than 350 people. The larger team will aim to better serve all existing Sportstec customers, providing more resources in developing new features and improvements on the products they love. The team will also remain dedicated to delivering a world-class experience to coaches and athletes at every level, all over the world.
