Hudl and WeCOACH say it’s About Time” to share these stories with a new 10-part podcast series.

Lincoln, NE [Sept. 11, 2023] - Hudl and WeCOACH are joining forces again to shine a light on important stories of women in sports, diving deeper on timely topics. Hudl, the global leader in performance analysis technology, and WeCOACH, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting women coaches in all sports and all levels, are exclaiming it’s "About Time" with this new 10-part podcast series focused solely on women in sports.

“At Hudl, we know that sports have the power to change lives and we remain committed to giving athletes the shot they deserve and doing our part to strengthen support for women in sports. We’re excited to continue to elevate these important stories and provide an online platform to dive into these meaningful topics with diverse guests from across the world of sports,” said Jasmine Kingsley, Hudl’s chief people and legal officer.

After four years of co-creating BreakThrough Summit, a digital leadership summit for women in sports, Hudl and WeCOACH are pivoting to a podcast series featuring impactful conversations with powerful women in sports. This series will serve to educate, inspire and shed light on topics that many say it’s "About Time" they’re covered in the mainstream. From building community around sports to driving social change, "About Time" aims to bring critical stories to the surface, amplify important voices and connect listeners across the globe.

“Our mission at WeCOACH is to elevate and empower women coaches in all sports and levels through professional growth and leadership development. 'About Time' is one additional way we can bring even more voices and stories to the forefront to help girls and women in sport to catch a vision for their lives. 'If she can SEE her, she can BE her,'” said WeCOACH CEO, Vanessa Fuchs.

“About Time” is hosted by Marke Freeman—author, Rising Media Stars alumni, sports broadcaster, consultant and CEO of Max-OUT Foundation. In each episode, Marke will go in-depth with guests to tell their stories of triumph, struggle and breaking through barriers in thoughtful conversations.

“Having Marke as our host is incredible,” said WeCOACH CEO Vanessa Fuchs. “She is a talented storyteller with strong empathy, passion and conviction. We know she’s the perfect leader to help bring the stories of our guests to life.”

The first episode drops Sept. 13 featuring Arizona women’s basketball head coach and mother Adia Barnes. A new episode will be released every three weeks on YouTube in a video-first style and on all major podcast networks including Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Amazon Music.

About WeCOACH

Founded in 2011, WeCOACH is a one-of-a-kind 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to recruiting, advancing, and retaining women coaches in all sports and levels through year-round professional growth & leadership development programs. Prior to Title IX, over 90% of women’s collegiate sports teams were coached by women. Today, over 50 years later, the data indicates that number has decreased to 46% in Division I, 41% across all three NCAA Divisions, with only 6.2% women head coaches of color (Division I). Only 5% women coach men’s teams. At the youth level, the data is hard to estimate, approximately less than 20% of teams are coached by women. WeCOACH launched MOVE the NUMBERS in 2022 to help change the landscape for women coaches and the student-athletes they lead. If she can see her, she can be her.
